Author Topic: Hosting is complete garbage for me - Attempt 3  (Read 667 times)

Before reading: Yes, I tried the port forwarding tutorial, but couldn't get to the last step because the numbers I was supposed to type in were invalid.

A blockland version ago I could host without any problems whatsoever. If I wanted someone to join my server, by gosh darn golly gosh they could. That's not the case anymore, my servers started having a ping of ---, and as far as I know only a few people can join - Perhaps no one at all can now. I was wondering if there's any way to fix this and have an actual working server.
Any help you can provide would really be helpful - because you know, help is helpful he- Just try to help me.

You need to port forward or enable UPnP to host.

Post a printscreen of your attempt to port forward.

and a printscreen of "ipconfig" in console.

Don't confuse him.

Hold down windows key + r (this will bring up the run menu) and put in "cmd", then after that this black window should come up, type in ipconfig and take a picture of that.

If in windows seven, click the 6 bars at the bottom right hand corner of the screen. Then click Open Network and Sharing Center. On the middle right should be Connections. Click the one in blue text. Click details. The last numbers on your IPv4 ("45" in the tutorial) should be the same as on the Port Forwarding page.

That's probably the problem - I typed in the exact number from the tutorial.

-and another thing, I'm not so sure I want to try the tutorial again. Last time I tried I had to do a system restore because it screwed up the internet itself.

You could also try it yourself using the guides on www.portforward.com

I port forwarded using the Blockland tutorial with good results, the end.
