Author Topic: Universal Currency Mod?  (Read 5075 times)

loving HELL NO. THIS WOULD RUIN BLOCKLAND. UNLIMITED? NO. WHATEVER YOU WANT? NO. THIS WOULD BE POPULATED WITH THE PEOPLE WHO GET THE MOTHERS TO BUY THEM THIS. As if it's not already. Plus, who the forget would want this on a freebuild? I mean, what the hell? Do you think Badspot would approve of this? Plus, this might not work on Torque. I get it for City RP to City RP, but really? A universal system? Keep to your City Rps, we don't need money.
You seem unnecessarily agitated.

You seem unnecessarily agitated.

I am. But I just don't want money on Blockland. It would ruin it. I want unlimited possibilities, not limited by the size of your wallet.

EDIT: Full of Typos today.

What. This isn't real money. It's a cross-server score, sort of.

I don't know where you got that idea...

If this was made, it could have a GUI edit to the "Join Server" screen, where it tells if a server has UCM or not.

I know. But it should be an optional server-sided add-on, as I wouldn't want to use it and some other people wouldn't.

It would be Client- and Server-sided. That way you could join a normal server with UCM and it would be exactly the same. And if you joined a UCM-running Server, then your Currency would be loaded.

This is still easily "hack-able". There should be a way to stop that.

loving HELL NO.
I'm glad other people have covered this, but where did you get the idea in-game coins would cost real-world money?

It would be Client- and Server-sided.
It's actually fully client sided. Any serverside mods for it would just send info to the client asking if they want to complete a transaction. This makes it so it's not:

Actually, having it all client sided would make it just as easy, if not easier, to hack. Having the clients ask the server to make transactions is what'd make it harder to abuse.

Where did you get the idea that he was asking Badspot to make this an official feature in the game?

He's (Slicksilver) making this himself as an add-on.

The problem is that it has the potential of having a client just saying "oh yeah i just won the 99999999999 jackpot at my casino lol"

I'm thinking the mod shouldn't be used in events and whatnot because they can be exploited easily. However, this leaves players only wanting to use the money for the trade of services and there is no incentive to use the money.

Also, each week, some percentage of a person's total amount be added to their money to grow the amount of money everyone has, rounded towards one. Say if it were a 10% increase and I started with 100UC, at the end of the week I'd have 110UC. If I only had 1UC, it should only give me .10UC, but because it rounds towards 1, I would end up getting 1UC putting me at 2UC total. If I had 11UC, it should give me 1.10UC, but it rounds down towards 1, so I'd only get 1 UC putting me at 11UC total. If I had 202UC, it should give me 20.20UC, but it rounds down towards 1, so I'd only get 20UC putting me at 222UC.

Having the clients ask the server to make transactions is what'd make it harder to abuse.
The client asks my server for transactions. The secure one. It makes SURE both parties agree. I guarantee you it is impossible to abuse without direct access to someone else's blockland key.

Also, these would work the same way. It would query my secure web server and ask for a transaction that has to be approved by the clients participating in the transaction.

How would casino's work? Would the owner have to put money into the machine before hand so that if the player wins, they get paid? If so, this would deter a lot of people from making these machines. Or will the machine be able to generate money? If they can generate money, what's stopping people from using events to generate as much money as they want?

On button click, ask client for transaction of X amount. Generate random number. If that random number is a winning number, offer transaction of Y amount back to client.

You didn't answer my question.
