Author Topic: Portforward on Westell 7500  (Read 813 times)

I have hosted servers before, but this a new router. But not just a router, one of those hybrid modem-routers.

Now, I followed the instructions from http://portforward.com/, found my router, and followed the steps for Blockland. Everything is filled out correctly. I enabled the Disable UPnP in the Networks tab in Blockland, and UPnP is disable on my router. I start up my server, and open the server browser with canvas.pushDialog(JoinServerGUI); but my server's ping is ---, and with my ports forwarded, that means no one will be able to join it, and the ping should show.

If anyone has a Westell 7500 modem-router, is there anything else I need to do other than forward my ports for this router?

Pretty sure I host with both UPnP and port forwarding enabled at the same time. Try that.

I did, didn't work.

Currently I'm just going to host with UPnP, I don't like it, but until someone helps me figure out what's wrong, I have to.

Did you forward the port from 28000 to 28000 then make them udp? That should work.

Like I've said, I have forwarded my ports before. It's not that hard, on account of the simple tutorials. You don't need to make it UDP, if your router supports it, you can set it to both (UDP and TCP). I forwarded my ports, tried everything. There must be some other settings I must change for my Westell 7500.

If anyone here has or had a Westell 7500 and successfully forwarded their ports, please tell me everything you did and tried to get it to work.

have you tried seeing if any of your friends could join while the ping was ---?

that means no one will be able to join it, and the ping should show.

My problem is that I cannot host with my Westell 7500 when my ports are forwarded. That means no one can join.

I get ping requests, but they fail and the players cannot connect.
