the virus is actually SCVHOST.EXE

the virus is actually SCVHOST.EXE
Quote
\\.\globalroot\systemroot\svchost.exe
Don't think so, actually.
Even if it was, It's not like I stopped to write it down, I closed the process ASAP. But that quote is directly from RKill.

Like virus developers are stupid enough to make it easier?

So its getting much worse. I'm in safemode currently. Seems like it was much much worse than before, computer wouldn't even start for a while had to system restore. Alot of malware showed up, getting rid of that. Svchost virus still very much here and annoying. Computer will BSOD if I go into normal run.

The svchost.exe virus is defined as scvhost.exe <-- the virus. Don't deny it when people say that, because it is true.

I had this exact same virus.

I downloaded "TDSSKiller" and that got rid of it, and then I used Malwarebytes to remove the file.

Notice that the file is in the "Windows" folder, when it should be in the system32 folder.

I like how you think you know what you're talking about when you don't. Tell that to my task manager you dope.

Hey look, its direct proof that FFSO and Cybertails don't know what the are talking about!

Buy Norton.

No. I have norton, and norton didn't even detect this as a virus.

That is why I ended up going through a bunch of forums to even figure out if I had a virus, and then download a few other anti-virus programs to get rid of it.

that is because Norton is a piece of stuff.
nobody who knows anything about anything would actually buy it. McAfee is better than Norton.. and McAfee is also useless.

do you have avast?

do you have avast?
Avast is alright, but I use Malwarebytes for the most part, along with a couple others that are less known about.
I'm using AVG right now. Also, Rkill needs updated. Win 7 2012 internet security got right by it. I had to close its process myself. Thankfully Malware is so easy to spot.

Personally, I'd use Spybot Search and Destroy. It works amazingly.

Try running a scan with super anti spyware.

Here http://www.superantispyware.com/

Cant risk you going to a dupe site and downloading a virus.

Also found something that might help with trying to install avg in safemode.

http://www.avg.com/us-en/faq.num-3618

I have avg internet security 2012 and I have not gotten infected yet.
It even protects against spyware unlike norton sometimes lets it slip in.
FYI Turn on resident shield if you get it it will scan a file that enters and exits the computer, it also monitors suspicious activity.
