I have a tower from 2007 I got for free that I am posting from currently as it updates sigh again for the 4th or 5th reinstall of windows of some sort.  Throughout it's life has seen 3 recovery partitions of windows vista home premium, 2 installs of Windows Xp professional x64 edition, 7 failed installation attempts at Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate, and currently one install of Windows Xp professional edition 32 bit.  It's specs are right here:

Compaq Presario sr2180nx:
2.80ghz dual core Intel Pentium D
1gb GDDR2 ATI Radeon HD 4550 (I bought this card for 60 dollars from 80 so I got an amazing deal)
3gbs of ram (1 gb of pc-4200 removed due to 32 bit xp) so it is currently 2gb pc-5300 Corsair ram I bought for the tower
250 gb HDD which should very well be dead due to all the re-formats its gone through lol.

They aren't terrible computers if you have the money to upgrade parts fyi Compaq is just a division of HP computers so they aren't any different just a different name.

Why didn't you install Windows NT 4 or Windows ME? They use less RAM than Windows 2000.
