Author Topic: Questions about my PC  (Read 1213 times)

Alright, so first I was wondering what a decent amount of ram is, don't laugh I'm a newcigarette. I currently have 2.00 GB
Secondly, I was wondering what a decent video card would be for under 200$, it needs to be able to run tf2 decently.
Help?

Generally at minimum 2GB is good.  4GB is great, and beyond that is just for anyone who's rich.

I need you to answer a few questions first.  Is your system a prebuilt, as in, you bought it as it is now from a store?  If so, can you tell me the make and model?

lol, rich beyond that?
nope.

I had a card that is about $60, it's the Radeon 6450. It's not very good but it can run TF2.
Or, you should go with the Radeon 6770. I believe it is under $200 and can run most modern games (Battlefield 3, etc) depending on your processor.
I have the 6770 and love it.

Can't find them, I think they where like 1gb each, from the conversations we had months ago.

Unfortunately you have a pretty weak power supply.

You have two options as far as I can see:  Buy a weak graphics card that could decently at best run TF2, or upgrade your whole system because if you upgraded your power supply AND graphics card your whole system would be in the dust and bottleneck your graphics card likely.

Triple channel.

Stick with multiples of 4, sweet cheeks

4 is less than ideal and 8 is more than you need.

My laptop has 16gb of ram(Too much, I know XD), but 5-6gb is where you won't have to worry about not having enough

4 is less than ideal and 8 is more than you need.
Everything is HEAVILY pushing towards 8gb minimums

Alright then, so if I need a new system or a new graphics card what would you recommend?
