Please, explain.
Compression is a little too ineffective. The quality lowers drastically if you increase the compression ratio even barely.
That's why you don't compress them.
Even if you decrease compression to nearly zero, you still get faded colors and ugly artifacts.
But the thing is, we want to make BlockOS download as small as possible, exporting our desktop backgrounds as PNG would at least double the filesize.
Not if you compressed them. It's called PNG, Portable Network Grapics, for a reason.

why dont we have a compressed PNG since the current folder would be loving 13MB without even the mother loving icons/code/guis.
Then make the stuffload of desktop images OPTIONAL DOWNLOADS.And then, use a PNG compressor. there are free ones online that work great.
Make desktop images be downloaded as you scroll down over them in the window and automatically delete the cache a minute after you close the window except for those images you're using as "wallpaper". This would also allow you to add default desktop images without making a whole new version.
Sounds like a great idea, could implement the skin, app, and wallpaper system into one and all are available to download.Edit: Wat think, guys?http://i.imgur.com/rjoNN.jpg
