Author Topic: My computer has a virus. Help please!  (Read 371 times)

First things first, I'm posting from my phone.

I was on memebase.com when all of a sudden a notification comes up on the lower right corner of my screen saying my computer may be at risk. I noticed it wasn't from McAfee, so I was immediately suspicious and opened up McAfee to see if anything was going on. I saw nothing was wrong, until everything closed and then something called "Microsoft antivirus 2012" (or something like that) came up and started running a "scan". I know some people had problems with something like this so I immediately shut off my computer. Should I try to start up my computer and get Malwarebytes to kill it or what? Any help is appreciated.

try malware bytes, it should work

You're forgeted.
you don't know what you're talking about

No he isn't.
Get malwarebytes, and a program called "Rkill" from bleepingcomputer.com
That is a good start.
Use Rkill first, then do a quickscan with Malwarebytes.
Status report and we will work from there.

I know my dad had malwarebytes installed, but I can't find it. Ill leave it until he gets home. Thanks for the help, locking unless I have further issues.
