The housing market went down because the banks broke let people who could not pay their loans back buy homes. I'm not sure what it has to do with Who was president or what party did what, but I do know it was greed that brought it down.

It's still an integral part of it, and the fact that the administration pressured the companies to give loans out to people with low income poses a big risk. I theorize that since this was done near the end of Clinton's term, he knew all the negative effects would take hold on the next guy.
