So yeah, I owe my brother a lot for a lot of things, won't explain a lot, but he needs help with his 3 - 5 minute speech on Ares which is due on Tuesday, and he wrote a pretty crappy essay. We agreed if I helped him, I wouldn't have to pay up for all the money I owed him and some other things. He's in 7t6h grade, and I think his speech maybe stuffe
It's first person by the way.
ARES
Hello everyone my name is Ares, the god of war, cruelty, hatred, civil order, fear, courage, and bloodshed. Most know me just as the Ares, the god of war, however, I have many more powers than just controlling war. I have many other names, for instance one is Mars, for the Romans who believe in me. But for now, call me Ares.
There is a reason I am the god of hatred, I hate all of the Gods, including my own father Zeus, except for a select few, like my children. I had 6 children, Eros, the god of love, Deimos the god of fear, Anteros, ta god of love, Enyalios, another war-god under me, Nike, the goddess of Victory, Harmonia goddess of Harmony, and Phobos, God of panic. I had many mortal children as well.
I have done many good and bad deeds, I loved to fight for the sake of bloodshed, but also fought to save or avenge someone. A bad deed I have done for example is transform two people into snakes because they had drank out of my lake, Lake Ares. I also had been in love with Aphrodite when she was already married to Hephaestus. However, I had done a few good deeds as well, such as arresting the sinful man Sisyphus who kidnapped the God of Death. I also aided the warrior women in the battle of the Amazon. So, as you can see, I am not all evil.
I’ve had many stories about me, myths, books, and such. A popular myth that has been known, but which of I hate to hear about, is my capture by Alodai, a giant. I had been jailed in a large jar, and none of the gods helped me, not even my father. I was only saved because of Hermes, who secretly snatched me away. I have been present in many other stories, dating from back to the Greek empire to modern culture, such as the original stories by Homer, and books such as the Percy Jackson series. It’s really nice to see Greek culture going on keeping us gods alive in people’s hearts.
