i have no problem with reddit or with 4chan, as long as they aren't being a richard. i was always more toward reddit but i found it too hard to navigate. i remember that 4chan had a community that was incredibly hostile to new users, and the way newbies gradually begin posting is very, very hostile. i've always found that the bl forums is better because we all have at least one thing in common. even though we hate each other most of the time we'll always defend each other when faced with some kind of common enemy.
