Im workin on the router buisness. My motherboard in in transit from RMA, and I just made a large sale for zee CPU collectors, which means I\ll have some extra $$$.

Also, (needs new post):
Inactive is no reason to excommunicate. Are they different when they come back? Just mark them as inactive.

We should keep all those who are worth keeping, dump the rest. If you dont see them but like it when you do, keep them. If they are on the teeter, have them re-apply. We shoudl have no qualms with dumping a user because we tire of them: We owe them nothing, and they gain from having our relationship while we do no. You could even consider that we lose having their questionable minds under our label.

Elitism doesnt work when once in, you're in for good. We gotta keep our lessers either excluded or working to stay out from the company those who who keep excluded!

But then, who wants to be the bad guy? Dont vote in public, now! The bad guy must be USSR, who none of us are individually. Thats why there are 4 blanks and 1 slug fired at the firing squad.

This is all going to be a lot of work, but I really think it'll be worth it in the end.

I'm very excited to hear that, Wizzard. Back in RTB, I always felt like I was your apprentice or something. I'll be good having you back.
We've definitely got to talk more or something! :D

If we are going to boot people from the clan, we should come up with some sort of standardized evaluation. I'm not particularly fond of the way we and other clans have done it in the past. And I'd definitely appreciate it if people didn't use the p word. We don't have "purges" we have "moderated organized peer evaluations."

I think first though, we should message them, tell them what we are doing. We'll give them a few weeks or so, where if they increase their involvement, we'll let them stick around without having to re-apply.

We should also give anyone who is booted ample opportunities to reapply.

Inactive people should just be put on an inactive list rather than kicked.

As for the voting system, Wizzard has the right idea. But we shouldn't just do anonymous voting, we should force people to provide a reason for it (anonymously of course), and any other comments. An anonymous evaluation of the members. Finally, I think members should be able to vote for as many people as they want, or none at all.

How do we do it anonymously though, while being sure that it is only our members? I can think of two systems, one would be where we don't do it anonymously but we instead PM all the comments and votes to one of the clan organizers, since we obviously can't kick them in the first place. Another way is that I could format the old USSR-loelarcade forums, have you all register, disable registrations, check the members to make sure you are who you say you are, and then have posts made anonymously (well, I'd rename your account to 1, 2, 3, etc, so that we could distinguish people, eg, what might appear as a bunch of people denouncing a certain member isn't just one person posting over and over).

I think part of the reason we should an evaluation based on member's opinions rather than building ability is because I think of USSR more of a group of friends who enjoy building things together rather than a clan based on competitively building. Building well is part of the application process, everyone in the clan can build fine to one degree or another, we should really be focusing on "can I build with this person?" rather than "can this person build?" I mean, yes, if you can't build you don't belong in USSR, but the idea is that they wouldn't have been in the clan in the first place if they couldn't build.

But before we do any of this, we should get a real dedicated server up.

Speaking of which, I think we need to start a team build now. I think there are a couple of ideas floating around, I recall Stalingrad, the Chrysler building, and working some more on the canyon. I think we should jump back into it with something simple though, since it's been a while. Maybe we should try re-hosting that Blockland Neighborhood build we hosted on Celestial Dreams on RTB. We can show off our server and builds, put our server back out there as a major clan server (all the newer members might not have had an opportunity to experience [USSR]Primary), get non-members interested in the USSR community again, and possibly attract some new builders.

Oh, one last thing.

One day, God was becoming lonely. So he blew himself and had sons.

I'd be interested in seeing a [USSR] server up consistently, to actually see some builds. I rarely see any of you, and a server (even just a USSR showcase) would be sweet.

I took some time out of my day yesterday to reinstall a clean copy of Blockland.
Just post some maps and a color pack you guys would like. Then I'll set us up a dedicated.
A [USSR] Build a _____ server is a really good idea. I loved those in RTB.

A little blog is all we really need. Blogger has all kinds of features from galleries to polls. I think it would be a good idea. It only takes seconds to set up.

Yeah, and we can give all members posting abilities. Although I don't know how successful it will be, considering how successful previous sites have been. People might just find it more convenient to post here.

Yeah, and who's going to run it is going to be another issue. :P

Since I think [USSR] really needs a dedicated building server, I'm going to try to put one up for as long as I can.
I have the Duplicator, Doors, and Portals mods. Anything else?
Remember: this is strictly a building server.

Someone can get a free gmail account and set up a blog on blogspot.

Fillcan?

I've got one. I'm no master at web design though, so I don't think I should be the one to do it.

Being back in NY was cool, so I'm eager to work on any new projects.

Hey can we get a standardized list of server rules? I'm going to make a version of bedroom and kitchen that have posters with them on it. I'll try and make them blend in, I'll probably tack one on the fridge and disguise it to look like a sticky note, I'll put a copy in a desktop picture frame on the dresser.

Or, if you don't think people will see them, I could just make huge ugly signs like HPRC has in his server.
