Author Topic: Is there another way to install skyrim?  (Read 909 times)

I just hate installing it to steam. I don't have a very good internet connection, which won't let steam load properly. So I basically can't play skyrim, unless, there was a way around the steam installation. Can someone help me please?

I would've bought a disk of the game if my internet was bad.
But you're pretty much stuck using steam to install it.

use steam to install off the disk, offline mode

use steam to install off the disk, offline mode

Offline mode won't work for me.

My Internet's bad but I don't bitch about slow downloads.
I just wait 1 week till its done and don't use the computer till its done.

Try closing everything you're doing exept steam and don't shut your computer down. Leave it on over night.

It's not that it's slow, it's just that it's a bitch to get up and running. Sometimes when I try to connect it won't work.

I had the same problem because of my internet, but luckily I had the disk from Christmas.
Just go into Steam and delete local content, then you have to launch it from the disk and try again.

Don't shut it down over night then

I'm not saying it's not installing, i'm saying that steam is a bitch to get up. And it doesn't load up or gives me an error 99.9% of the time.

This guy clearly know it all, why else would he repeat himself?

find a nocd patch for it
it's only illegal if you didn't buy it legally

Ummm... okay. I've never had a good experience with nocd stuff.

Ummm... okay. I've never had a good experience with pirating stuff.
it's not piracy
just buy it, replace the exe with one that doesn't require steam, and bam. i've only ever done this with san andreas, so no idea if it works on games that exclusively use steamworks
