If I tell myself things like I'm talking to someone else then I somehow manage to remember what I told myself without fault.
For someone as forgetful as me, it's really useful.

Seriously, I'm so forgetful that I can forget the entire plot and characters of an anime I watched yesterday if I don't talk to myself about it before going to bed
