To get shot in the army other by friendly fire or some mugger, you have to be on tour.
Not everyone goes on a tour before they leave the military. You may get lucky.
Or, you'll get shot in the arse by a towel wearing muslim extremist.

I'll probably get deployed. I could even be deployed multiple times per enlistment and especially if I reenlist and make this a career. Although I'll be trained as a soldier, my job won't be combat oriented.

But, you never know. Whatever happens happens. I'm not afraid to take risks.

There is no way I would ever join the military. I'm too weak and I don't like to get shouted at. Also, Canadians tend to be cannon fodder (as seen in WW1) so I wouldn't feel safe :P
