Author Topic: Police kill an eighth grade boy for brandishing a pellet gun.  (Read 7645 times)

oh my god really

I know, right? There's half your answer right there. Now you just need a motive.

If the gun has an orange plastic ring around the barrel, IT'S FAKE!

They're pretty easy to take off.

everyone's whining about how the cops are so bad and crap, but it was 100% the kids fault that he was shot. the police told him several times to put the gun down and he ignored them.

had no orange plastic ring.

Only an idiot would do that and try to use it against someone with a real gun.

Still looks pretty fake to me. An experienced person handling guns would be able to tell it's fake.

How? It's true.

you say that like the cops were inspecting it in their hands.

he was holding it out and it looked like a real gun. it's not like they were point blank, they couldn't tell whether it was or not. and he could have saved himself if he put it away like they asked but he didn't.

I think you're missing the whole "the kid assaulted his classmate and came to school with a fake gun."

He was probably just mad at someone, figured 'forget it, postal time.' and came to school with a weapon. Problem: he probably didn't have a real gun so he came with something to appear threatening. Then the cops came and went 'DEAR GOD REAL GUN PUT IT DOWN' and he didn't, so they shot him. Natural selection. Done and done.

An eighth grade kid.
An eighth grade kid holding what could be a dangerous weapon.
An eighth grade kid holding what could be a dangerous weapon that is also refusing to drop it the said dangerous weapon.

HURRR never said they aren't. Just some don't look at detail while in the line of fire.

I'm confused, I don't know what people are bitching at me about anymore. You all seem to have different answers and seem to have read what I said differently.

I've given up on you

Do you understand that these guns are almost identical, especially from the distance between the kid and the cops?  That's why there's an orange tip, because orange is visible at long ranges, the same reason why hunters wear orange vests, because orange is visible at long ranges.  Because the gun did not have an orange tip it is almost impossible to discern from a range if the gun is real or not, because orange is visible at long ranges.
