Author Topic: Police kill an eighth grade boy for brandishing a pellet gun.  (Read 7603 times)

Completely the kid's fault. That's what you get when you point a look-alike gun at an officer and ignore orders to put it down.

I'm on two sides here
The kid refused to put down the gun, and the copa thought it was real.
But the kid was 15 yrs. old. They could have just shot him once where it wouldnt kill him.

I dont think that he deserved to die.

If they only shot him once in a non-lethal area, the kid could have used the gun on them.  However, since the gun wasn't real, this obviously wouldn't happen.  Except the cops had no way of knowing this.

Officers shoot to hit. Places that are easy to hit (see: center mass) are very lethal. I don't know where officers are trained to shoot and whether or not to try to preserve the life of whoever they shoot.

I don't think he deserved to die, but he made an outrageously stupid decision and paid for it with his life.

I heard about this, sounds horrible..
My dad says he remembers back when people could bring guns to school and people would just think they're going hunting. No bigie, now look at schools :/

People don't want another Columbine happening. Or any of the other school shootings immediately following Columbine, for that matter.

The kid is 15 years old and in 8th grade from what I can tell.  Deserves it.

Actually, this is fine. The teenager was threatening to shoot people, and could have created a false hostage crCIA.

You are a piece of stuff.

What a loving dumb kid. Look at that pellet gun, it looks exactly like it's real counterpart.

This is loving handicapped.
Shot because he was carrying a FAKE GUN?
Seriously?

It looked quite real, and the dumbass deserved it for pointing it at the cop as well as not obeying the orders.
He had it coming.

Look at the gun. It's immposible to tell if it's real or not.

Not to mention he disobeyed a direct order.

He had it coming.

He did do that, but seriously, he didn't have to be KILLED. That's really extreme if you ask me.
This probably makes me more angry than it makes you because in my country, there's been a lot of killers that didn't even have to stay in prison forever or get killed. And now this...

wait
he's 15, why is he in 8th grade
