Author Topic: Got new TV Card, no reception  (Read 1205 times)

Fact list:
  • It's DVB-T-based
  • It's an ASUS U3100 Mini Plus
  • It doesn't find any channels
Any ideas?

Apparently it's a device that allows you to view TV channels on your computer

Although why you'd need one of these is beyond me

Hulu is US-only.

Because getting a screen and a TV-card was cheaper than getting a screen with built-in tuner and I'm too lazy to go to the TV room.

Because they let you record TV shows and stuff and let you watch TV without having to buy a monitor with a built in tuner.

Does the antenna you using with it work with a TV? Have you tried any other antennas?

We don't have a DVB-T receiver box, so I can't test it with that. And thus we don't have any other antennas either.

And by the way, I live near the town core, not out on the country.

It's USB, right? Are you sure the tuning software is recognizing it?

Have you tried it in a different USB port?

Yes. At first it didn't even detect it, but then it gave an error message. Now I'm in the kitchen with the laptop, and it's flashing blue at times, but it still doesn't find anything.

Have you tried restarting your PC and/or uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers?

Tried on both laptop and desktop.

Try contacting customer support, then. If you end up returning it, try getting a Hauppauge one as a replacement. I've got an actual internal TV tuner card by them and it works flawlessly.

did you plug the cable in? lol
