I hate it when antigun liberals/hippies assume a guns sole purpose is to kill other humans. They forget back hunting for food, shooting targets made out of clay/paper. Just because I own a pistol, doesn't mean I'm going to use it to pop everything I think of as a threat. I like going in my back yard and shooting bottles and cans off the fence post. Am I killing anything? Nope, just soda cans and bottles(last time I checked bottles don't breathe).
The second thing addresing that is worth addresing is how thing it will cut down crime. Look at a country like Mexico, sure guns are illegal there, but you see cartel members going around with fully automatic rifles and shotguns. Here at home in the states fully automatic weapons are hard to obtain unless you have a class 3 license, but the media has everyone convinced that you can go to walmart and buy a Mac10, UZI, M60, or whatever shoots fast these days. In reality you can't walk into Wal-Mart, Big 5, Bilson, or whatever and find anyof those things. Just shotguns, Rifles, and Pistols. So how does a gun ban stop gun violence from happening. It doesn't, criminals do not play by the rules, they never will. That doesn't mean every man, woman, and child should be armed to the teeth. Firearms should only belong to those responsible(no crazy fruitloops like the Davidians or Aryan Nations). Also I'm not a Conversative or Liberal if you guys want to make this political. Just an American.
