Author Topic: Star Trek Online: Now F2P!  (Read 19283 times)

I'm referring to those who didn't have lapsed accounts.
There will also no doubt be serious prejudice against F2P players, just like in TF2. Everyone seems to think you need to pay to have any skill at whatever game you're playing.
You probably couldn't tell unless they told you.

"That dude sucks at this game... must be F2P."

Oh, well yeah.
But only people in Borg event, PvE, STF, and PvP could notice that.

Most of the stuff you can't get for free in F2P can be bought through the C-Store, so there won't be too bad of a power struggle, I would think.
My main character, T'Reln:

I wanted the DS9 uni pack, it was 240 C-points and now it's 400 D:

>STO dev says it's F2P
>No skills beyond level 5, max level cap 20, no bartering, ads, no captain privileges for F2P players

That at least is my prediction.

Wasn't quite wrong, but

That actually appears to be a lot of stuff, I will try this.

Better than Star Wars Galaxies' F2P where you could only get to lvl 25 and being a Trader was stuffty because you had to do everything yourself.

If anyone makes an account, feel free to add me. My Handle is Feena@Armitageman or T'Reln@Armitageman

Not that much of a Trekkie but I'm going to try this.

Feel free to post or PM me your character handles and I will update them on the main page.

Jeffery Kenny@9Bithead - Federation
Bithead@9Bithead - Barely used Klingon

Chex Guy@chexguy331

Only one char atm.

Updated the names.

Here's my main ship, the USS Titanic-E

Nice pic, but you coulda cropped out the chat box. I think it's F11 or something that completely disables the HUD.

I actually have yet to take a picture of my Luna-class Viridian-B.

I'm looking forward to fighting alongside the Odyssey-class Enterprise-F. forget flying the ship itself.

is a sweet game.

how does the free work? do they get access to everything?
