Author Topic: Paint pallet... FAIL  (Read 3114 times)

I tried to make a paint pallet and all was well in my "I am pretty sure this is going to work" land. I was right. PRETTY sure. Failed miserably. Wanna see what it looked like? Here:

It had like 30 invisible paints.  I can count 6. The blacks and the browns were transparent too...
If you want to improve it heres the code:

The color settings for each color in the pallete are Red, Green, Blue, TRANSPARENCY (aka Alpha).

You can use the 0.0-1.0 color range or the 0-255 color range.
So 1.0 0.0 0.0 1.0 is the same as 255 0 0 255.

Hope that helps!

if you make a invisable (compleatly), do other people have to download and what are the codes for it?

They are in there but I herd a lot of people use them to spam so me no telling.

Ok, I did the paint pallet over (Redo) and there is still invisble bricks! The numbers for it are fine. What am I doing wrong? I still have 5 missing colors and there was supposed to be 64 colors, but there is only 59 now because the 5 that are invisble. What am I doing wrong?

SO WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?!

I'm looking at your 5th green color, which is invisible, and uses 0.000 0.360 0.000 1.000. I don't know what you are doing wrong. It looks like it should work.

I think its a lot easier just to use RGB and Alpha, try that if you haven't yet.

Code: [Select]
236 131 173 255
255 154 108 255
255 224 156 255
244 224 200 255
200 235 125 255
138 178 141 255
143 237 245 255
178 169 231 255
224 143 244 255
DIV:Soft

The first number is the amount of red, the second is the amount of green, and the third is the amount of blue. The fourth number is the transparency. I've had no trouble using this system, and have used it to create a few custom colors.

0 is the minimum value, and 255 is the maximum.

Its really easy to find the values for colors as well. Most programs support RGB values. I happen to use the firefox color picker extension myself, because I can actually pick colors right out of any photo, or off any web page, straight from my browser.

SO WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?!
You're making a paint pack. You shouldn't. The default pallet is fine.

I want it for myself.

i'd try using 0-255 system, since the 0-1 doesnt seem to like you :x

It confuses me. I don't know how exactly to make it. :/

Go into MSpaint and double click on one of the colors.
Then click "Define custom colors"
Then find the color you want, and copy the numbers in the red green and blue colums, and put them in order
RED# GREEN# BLUE# (This # will be 255(not trans) or a lower number Ex. 170(trans)
so for a nice red you would have in your colorset.txt...

255 0 0 255

If you can't figure it out from there, you, my friend, are a complete noob.

I know what to do from there so stop being an ass hole.
