Now the big boys are in action. Reddit is angry. 4chan is angry. everyone is angry.  I think we know about sopa, but now stuffs escalating.

Reddit: literary the front page of the web. Millions, possibly 10s of millions are online at a time. Them shutting it down is a big deal. The next step would be facebook, google or twitter to get the general public envolved.

Why: I belive it is to attract atention to sopa. If people knew about what this bill dose, they will protest this bill heavily.  I think this is a instigation technique to prompt Google, valve, Facebook, tumble, Yahoo, blizzard,  and other heavily visited web sites and corporations to generate negitive publicity towards the bills.

Tl;dr: Reddit is being shut down protesting SOPA/PIPA.

I don't either.

forget those friends at Reddit. forget those friends at Tumblr. forget those friends at 9gag. forget my friends at 4chan. forget me.

You can modify your hosts file to bypass sopa for the most part anyway.

forget those friends at Reddit. forget those friends at Tumblr. forget those friends at 9gag. forget my friends at 4chan. forget me.
Sounds lovey.

forget those friends at Tumblr.
i like tumblr though
As far as I know, Tumblr isn't going to do a blackout to oppose this. They did have a "Call your congressman" thing going last year, though.

edit: I can only imagine the amount of complaining that would happen if Facebook or Twitter were to shut down though, lol

I don't understand why they're blacking out reddit? I gathered they're choosing to black it out for a day, but I can't figure out why. Someone enlighten me?

I have a reddit shirt.
Yeah, it's a forum, my dad uses it a lot.

But 1504 or whatever actually affects our lives.
Like we can be dragged out of our house at any time.

the loss of reddit rates between "dropped pretzel" and "public fart" in the official tragedy scale

also I use tumblr but I just post art (silly cartoons not artsy bullstuff) and avoid the homestucks like the plague
