I think a "dead" lobby would be good for this game. Instead of being banned on death you could become ethereal and muted so you can spectate. And if room is needed on the server you simply wipe out a dead player to make room. Or script something to ban a dead player when someone new joins.

The muted part is possible.

The ethereal could be some player changing script.

I am not too keen on RPs in Blockland.  (Not saying that I don't care [And I am not saying that your RP is a clusterforget of CoD cigarettes {I mean the ones that play so long they prestige everyday}])

I also have a problem staying on topic with most RPs.  Mostly I just topic de-rail to something else without meaning to.
