Author Topic: So apparently I'm colorblind. Huh.  (Read 5493 times)

Interesting. I got my new eyeglass prescription a few days ago and there he had me do some of these tests:

Then a week later we got a referral to a colorblindness specialist. I guess I must have failed the tests. We went there and had me do a bunch more of those tests as well as some tests where there was a number on a plain grey background I was supposed to see. I didn't see it.

So, it turns out I have a rare form of colorblindess called tritanopia. This means while you guys have receptors for red, green and blue wavelengths in your eyes I only have red and green which means blue and green look the same to me and pink and yellow look the same.

Weird.

Rainbow to you (these two look almost the same to me):

Rainbow to me:

On a positive note, this means I can't be drafted. :D

we must create robotic eyes for you then.

And your avatar has a rainbow on it.

I had my brother make it. I'm not good with art.

MAYBE THIS IS PART OF WHY

EDIT: Had my brother make a new avatar with the colorblind rainbow.

Here's a good question:

Do we all experience color in the same way? I think there might be a reason I can't think up a new color that isn't a shade of anything else.

yesterday Daemon want onto the server i was on, and it as a falling platforms server.
a centerprint came up saying "ORANGE!" and Daemon went to pink.
and he ded.
then he said "forget you im colorblind."
thats why i know that he was colorblind before this topic was made.

how do you know that the first rainbow is not the colorblind one, huh!

unless you looked it up specifically I guess

I think this has part of something to do with it. Languages don't always have the same words for color.

Wikipedia says it was the one for non-colorblind people.
