One Zip Records is a 'record label' that a few of my friends formed. I'm currently attempting at producing music for them, but I suck compared to them.
Here are a few examples of their stuff.

http://soundcloud.com/wopak <- Spencer. One of my best bros. He makes all sorts of stuff, really :u His best stuff is his French house songs IMO.

What programs are they using? And where are they recording? :O I've been wanting to record music FOREVER. Obviously you can just connect electric instruments to a computer.

Most of them use Ableton Live. It's electronic music - they don't use actual instruments like drums.
