Looks like another "RPG" that bases around combat.
Just another usual, why don't people get the concept of 'rpg' these days?

Implant  quests.
I'm already working on an awesome quest system.

The most common fault of all the MedievalRPs and RPGs in Blockland is that they have no RPG Aspect.
Chopping/Mining Wood/Ore isn't an RPG. Look at Skyrim for example.
It's all quests. The thing that really helps good RPG's are AIs.
Quest Giving AIs, Shopping AIs. Defiantly Passive AI's, Passive AI's give off an environment comfortable for playing an RPG. They also can be fun to kill. Then if you have Passive AI's, you must include a type of crime system. Because then it just becomes a DM. Create a good Combat system, especially ranged. Use the recurve bow, since it's the best bow in blockland. (IMO)
Look at how other RPGs failed:

DRPG - Just like the rest of them
Wicked's MedievalRP - Just like the rest of them
Non Mod RPs - Mostly just like the rest of them

Just like the rest of them == Wood Cutting and Ore Mining with some crafting and or growing, thats it.

Please dont make this RPG just like the rest of them I would be disappointed. Include some fun things that no one ever does. Defiantly dont make it harvesting based.

Monsters are nice - though make them more powerful. You want to hold the user just enough from leveling, so he can enjoy his/her time trying to level up. One  part of games is when you get so close to reaching that next level, but then something happens and you have to restart. It's what I think makes people keep coming back to play the game.

The RPG has to have a forest, a place where wild animals roam and other things, where you freely walk around and can hunt. Don't make hunger life threatening. Though make it required. Give them some sort of limit. Stamina, or something like that.

Good to see you're back Chao, I found you a nice coder. Though you have too many things going on, and i never get to talk to you :(
Anyway, all this is just my opinion.
I think I might poke at EternityRPG, get a nice quest system in that of ORPG doesn't get any farther.

Rune Hailberd In Runescape
Crossbows In Runescape
Bronze, Rune, Mithril.
Just some Idea why not make tribes or something like villages.
I know its in Beta but giving some advice.

Mining animation?
Day night system
Rain, Snow, system

Now this would almost be impossible to make,
Earthquakes would make it cool
1/500 chance of it happening in your location.

And also, Is there town names?
Like Elwynn or Solitude, Whiterun, Winterhold (I know I got these of Skyrim but there Idea's except for the Elwynn one) Some parts be Snowy and a monster idea for snow plains.

Wow.  Huge post is huge.  But seriously, I understand that just harvesting materials isn't really an RPG (and isn't really all to fun D:), but making AI can get pretty hard, especially when you want to go into detail on what they do.  One thing I am currently struggling with making the bots work when i'm not on the server.  I know it sounds dumb, but it's harder than you think for some reason.
I know that the monsters need to be more than just attacking and killing them with easy, and i'm working on that.  I plan on doing many things with monsters, but here are just a few:
1. Magic Attacks/Skills that the monsters can use to attack the player
2. Monsters harder to kill, but more exp.
3. I guess just generally making the AI better, because (no offense to amade), but bot events kind of suck for dedicated servers because they DONT WORK...

The RPG has come a long way since the beginning, but it still needs more work to make it more realistic.  I like your stamina idea, and probably will add that to the game.

I will add an area in the post where I talk about what I am thinking about or already adding to StoneQuest.

Can I has be an NPC? That would be a nice way to gain popularity, methinks, making NPCs for players.

Well, when I make NPCs, they are going to be scripted, not evented.  So, I don't really need any help with them unless you know how to script NPCs :P


Chao, what me and Honor are currently working on for DRPG is wild animal system, where an animal will spawn within a radius of you, but disappear if you get too far away. We were just going to use Phydeoux's animal pack, but I am going to ask him first if I can ever get contact with him.
Maybe you should add this idea to Stonequest. Wild animals always improve an RPG.
