Author Topic: I almost died today.  (Read 2158 times)

So I was driving along on a two lane highway, prolly about 65 MPH. All of a sudden this deer pops out. It was hella close, and I didn't even have time to think, so I swerved. I skidded across both lanes and flew into a steep ditch nose first. Then I slid and almost rolled my car. It was stopped from rolling by heavy brush. (keep in mind, it's a little Honda Accord.)
The first thing I did was jump out of the car because I thought I was in serious danger. After a few seconds I realized I was okay and my car was still running. I jumped back in and got it back onto the road. Then I realized my car was smoking, so I turned it off.  I noticed coolant everywhere, and my bumper half off. It dented my fender a bit but besides that it's alright. It ripped my front plate off and a turn signal though.

Went I was skidding across the road I totally thought I was going to die right there. I'm extremely thankful I wasn't in a taller car, or I would've rolled several times.

tl;dr: forget deer.

woah.

sorry about that, man.

i had to get to piano practice.

"ALMOST"? I have to go get my money back from that deer...

I almost got run over by a car onced :0

Apparently my parents' car had a really bad gas leak and could've ignited at anytime.

damn deer, think they can run people off the road whenever they want. if there was no danger of deer crashing through your windshield and impaling you with their antlers, you should have ran his ass over!

dont swerve for animals

hit the brakes and try to go around but dont swerve ever

Ouch.

Biggest thing that's happened to me was when me and a friend were driving on a country road in the middle of a night. We were doing racing corners with our lights off so that we could see if people were coming the other way (we were often on the wrong lane).

We went round a rather sharp corner that we didn't know was sharp and we entered at 120. He turned in a bit more, and we hit the dirt on the inside, and the car started spinning as the dirt slowed the front wheels while the back kept on going.

We spun a lot and ended up in somebodies driveway, but with no injuries. It's the weirdest feeling spinning at 120. Especially going from straight, to sideways, to backwards. Trippy as hell.

It was only a little car too, a Mitsubishi Mirage.

Ouch.

Here's a picture of the car:

Had to sell it after it developed engine problems, but I miss it. My first car :(
It was the most fun car for handbrake corners :P
