Author Topic: Parents are convinced that BL mods have given my computer viruses  (Read 1858 times)

Tell them
that since Blockland Addons are stored in ZIP files that viruses would be literally trapped inside them and unable to do anything just by downloading them.

Let's break down your post, shall we?
Because Windows software is stuff for everything else but games.

Here is a picture of Microsoft Word and OneNote 2010.  Word is used to create any form of document and to edit as you please, while OneNote is primarily a quick "no-saving-needed" note-taking program.

OneNote doesn't use any saving other than storing any information typed into the RAM that it uses and then quickly saving it into the data files where all your notes are stored.
Macs are used for business ideal stuff but also any games that come out for Mac are always the better ones anyways.
I'm sorry, what?  "any games that come out for Mac are always the better ones anyways"?  That's like saying any games that come out for PC are always the better ones as compared to console-exclusives.  I don't know about you but I'd sure as hell play Halo Reach if it was for PC.  This comparison makes no sense.

Bootcamp Assistant is not an emulator as you need to run a windows software installer wherein you can buy at Walmart or of course online for a much cheaper price.
The forget are you talking about?  Bootcamp IS an emulator.  It EMULATES Windows.  It PRETENDS TO BE WINDOWS within Mac OS X, like emulating Mac OS X within Windows using VirtualBox or Windows Virtual Machines.

All that put together you get a top brand computer with a sleek lovey design, amazing techniques for making business ideas and much more plus a gaming Mac installed with the correct software. All quite nice actually.

The fact I have a Mac and a Windows and I can compare these things.
My desktop and my Alienware M11x both look like gods compared to all-white Macs.  The fact that I use Windows-based machines and I see handicaps like you at school each brandishing the exact cloned laptops means I can compare these things.

Your opinion =/= fact.

Windows are continuously getting better at all things that Macs used to dominate. Such as productivity tools. With the Adobe CS suites and Sony Vegas as well as things like FruityLoops, I personally don't see what else a Mac could do better.

Yes, they come with some of the software, but if you didn't spend double the price on the hardware in the first place then you could afford the software. Yes, they look good, but that's the exact marketing scheme that Alienware uses and somehow gets away with charging more for, and I dislike this aspect about both Alienware and Apple. However Alienware doesn't charge nearly as much.

TBH they are perfect if you aren't technologically minded.

>overpaid for mac
>doesnt want to feel bad about it so he defends it

those "repair" shops are bullstuff. they scan computers with stuffty/free antiviruses because the people sending in computers are dumb asses when it comes to computers and like to waste money to make themselves feel special.

"permanent damage" is how i knew it was an instant lie.
the spammy viruses cant earn money from you if they break your comp.

your dad knows you cant defend yourself so he thinks its easier to blame you then himself for the research he looked at.
mommy cant know the truth

Haha oh wow. Macs run perfect with games.

There is a default program installed called Bootcamp Assistant which basically allows you to run any windows software right on your Mac. Which also means games.

I have a gaming Mac which might sound silly but it runs like a charm.
So let me get this straight, you paid much more money for an operating system, just so you can dual boot into a different, cheaper one?

You are handicapped.

Additionally, a few of my friends bought apple laptops, and I did some testing of how they ran temperature wise.

After 20 minutes of idling, my friend's Macbook was running at 80 degrees celsius. At that temperature, it was able to run TF2 at an astounding 15 fps. Keep in mind this was factory new, 800$ macbook with virtually no dust in it's heatsinks.

mac users defend their product by claiming it can run the competitive product.

seems to me you could cut corners and just use the competitor from the start. save yourself lots of money and running resources.

how can a mac user even brag about their clear treason? what kind of loyalty is that?

"Gives a dang"? The forget made this, an eight year old?

Haha oh wow. Macs run perfect with games.

Funny... because like 90+% of games compatible with Mac usually have forums with several posts complaining about Mac-specific problems... Including this forum.

I thought it was an edited comic, but no, original comic by Tim Buckley.

So yeah, eight year old
