Its value would drop a thousand fold.

And weed is very well rooted in the economy. It's a multi billion dollar industry that touches more then pot heads and dealers.
It would not be good for the economy to legalize it.

The price is artificially inflated because it is illegal. This would only bring it down to a competitive price set by the market.

Well, If that's what it's really worth, than that's what it's really worth. I'm not saying that there wouldn't be an economic repercussion, I'm just saying it wouldn't really be a bad thing.

Anyway, I would be happy if it was legal for recreational usage, but in small amounts (as in you cannot legally just go and buy an ounce or two).

Also, I'd prefer the legal age for purchasing it to be 21 instead of 18.
