pippa middleton must feel bad

You don't get it. Basically ANYTHING that a company thinks is copyrighted can get a website blacklisted for little things. Also, it's very hypocritical and very sneaky.

I know you're happy or some stuff that he's delaying these bills, but have you already forgotten that he passed the NDAA?

Passing NDAA was a sneaky and dumb move on his part, but the fact that he ended the Iraq War, fixed up the economy a bit, and is against SOPA is enough for me to support him again. He's not that bad a president, and people like Gingrish make him look like a God.

a god that likes kfc LOL

And out of curiosity Fox, are you liberal or conservative? I'm not sure if you dislike Obama because you're of a different party or just because you don't think he's a fitting president.

The problem is Obama can't really do much economy-wise because congress always stops him.

Exactly.
He could and would be doing a lot more and better things if Congress wouldn't stop blocking him from doing anything. Then everyone blames HIM for not doing anything.

I don't even know the difference between the two, and if I had to pick between being a Democrat or a Republican, I wouldn't, because I'd be Independent
there's all sorts of things that I agree with on one side, but just as many that I disagree with
same for the other side

Exactly.

Except the economy didn't get better till the Republicans took the house (Hint: House initiates all revenue bills). And the Democrats were in control of the House of Congress during the recession. If the economy does good or bad, it's mainly Congress's fault, not the President's. The President only has so much power domestically, yet people usually look at them as a economic messiah or destroyer.

It's not like company can just take a site down by clicking a button. There is still some due process and checks and balances. See the Wikipedia article:

The bill would authorize the U.S. Department of Justice to seek court orders against websites outside U.S. jurisdiction accused of infringing on copyrights, or of enabling or facilitating copyright infringement. After delivering a court order, the U.S. Attorney General could require US-directed Internet service providers, ad networks, and payment processors to suspend doing business with sites found to infringe on federal criminal intellectual property laws. The Attorney General could also bar search engines from displaying links to the sites.

The bill also establishes a two-step process for intellectual property rights holders to seek relief if they have been harmed by a site dedicated to infringement. The rights holder must first notify, in writing, related payment facilitators and ad networks of the identity of the website, who, in turn, must then forward that notification and suspend services to that identified website, unless that site provides a counter notification explaining how it is not in violation. The rights holder can then sue for limited injunctive relief against the site operator, if such a counter notification is provided, or if the payment or advertising services fail to suspend service in the absence of a counter notification.

Will SOPA change the internet as we know it and take down some useful sites? Yes. Will it completely forget everything up and take away free speech? Not at all.

It would suck if someone posted a youtube link here that they didn't know was copyright infringing and the holder of the rights can go to court with Badspot. Of course then Badspot could just remove the post which would probably make them happy enough.

Exactly. Badspot wouldn't even have to bother with court, he could just remove the link once he was notified.
