Blockland for kids...

Author Topic: Blockland for kids...  (Read 8286 times)

Greetings!  My son found your website and wants to buy the full version.  He has some devlopmental disabilities.   Can anyone make any suggestions for easy/difficulty of play?  I am really a novice at this...do you have to play on line, or once you purchase the full version, can you play off line?

Thank you for any help!  It is much appreciated...

you can play offline using full version if you wish
theres jsut a button you press that does it in the start server menu

if by offline you mean single player, than yes, you could do that, just make sure you are connected to the internet, the way Blockland works, is you are given an ID once you buy Blockland, in order for the server to authenticate that ID, you need to be connected to the internet.

Well, there are no set goals or enemies in this game. Its more about building structures of whatever you can imagine. In terms of difficulty...well, as long as your son knows how to use the keyboard and the numpad on it then he should be fine.

I suggest trying the demo first at http://www.blockland.us/index.asp?p=Download

On the download page just download version 1.3 for windows. Its a demo and you only have to pay if you want to unlock the full game. Limitations of the demo are: Can't play online and a limit of 150 bricks.

Hope that helps.  :)

EDIT: Forgot to mention. There is a LAN feature so if you do decide to purchase a copy of the game you could play together with your son (providing you have 2 computers).

I got full Retail Blockland, and if your kid has problems like ye said... Don't let him play internet games much, from what i've experienced, there's been cursing, adult builds n' all, so playing with Single player (in the start server menu) checked would be a good idea

You can play it off line and if my memory suits me. I might know you (remember Ruby tuesdays) if not, i look stupid i dont care.

if you want him to play online you should turn chatline time to 0 in options it takes out chat

I think servers should have their Maturity levels monitored

Ex. StoreClerk's Server: [||                            ]

The way he worded it, you may think he's saying his kid has problems...

i would quote the reason he said that but that would be a bit rude...

also only let the kid play blockland... do not let him play AOTS.

also only let the kid play blockland... do not let him play AOTS.
