Author Topic: Megaupload, bankrupt 25% of america?  (Read 6698 times)

My friend Ryan sent me his entire music folder over it.

stuffballs.

EDIT: They were all bought in some way.

yes but he gave it to you which is illegal

that's like saying "The person who uploaded all this music to this torrent site bought it all, but I'm of course downloading it all for free"

your friend will likely get in trouble for supplying it to you
i'm not sure about you getting in trouble though

the only albums i ever EVER downloaded were the free ones that game designers give out

Piracy is just a derogatory term for sharing.

because they see it as stealing, and will go out of there way to avoid real issues and instead take away more of your money than they already do

this guy reminds me of a gay billy mays

MIKE MOZART HERE

You guys are all overreacting. There's the government can see and prosecute everyone who illegally downloads from Megaupload. I mean seriously, it's not like MU was full of just pirated stuff, there was legal stuff on there as well. So it would be a risk for people downloading normal, legal files from there as well. Plus the fact that there's no real way of pinpointing exactly which files got downloaded and which IPs were downloading them. Because, apparently, I think all the files were deleted when MU was seized.

Sharing is a light term for piracy.

Thank goodness i only used Media Fire!

I hardly think that other countries are going to happily extradite 25% of all internet users in it.

When a domain is seized, it's permanent unless it's given back to the original owners.

Second of all, the domain can only be bought in increments of 1 year, and it's valid until 2014 anyway.
