Dear Mr. President,
I would like to congratulate for a superior State of the Union speech. You portrayed a sense of strength, confidence, belief in the economic recovery and vision for the future that we all need. It is important for you and your team to continue to keep a positive dialogue going with the citizens of this country so they made aware of and fully understand what you have accomplished, what have been the results and what the next steps are.
In the fall, I wrote to you regarding allowing people to refinance. People who are in the most need, who do not want to default, lost a job but have good credit and financial recourses, are looking for work or starting their own business still can not refinance until they can show at least a year of steady income. This is counterproductive to the growth of the economy. Refinancing would give these people more expendable income, which could assist in growing their own business, preventing mortgage default and ultimately help to stimulate the economy. You are correct; the banks have got to start contributing to economic growth and recovery. They owe it to the American public.
Finally, it was mentioned by commentators that you did not discuss health care in your speech. Please do not shy away from this topic. People need to know how the Affordable Care Act has made a difference and how you intend to continue to assure high quality, affordable, transparent, fraud free, health care to the American public.
Thank you for the work you are doing. I look forward to the next four years, with you at the helm, leading this country to a better place and serving as a world leader….of peace, innovation, cooperation, tolerance and prosperity.
