Author Topic: What the forget has Obama done so far? (The answer: wars and debts apparently?)  (Read 3403 times)

What? We lost a few less jobs? You think John working at a GM factory wants to keep his steady income to feed his children, or perhaps get fired and lose all benefits from his that cozy luxury life when he could afford necessities?

Honestly, a bailout was necessary. It was key, and it happened. Nothing can be done about it anymore, but tons of things can be done for our struggling economy today, things that need to be done, but can't be agreed upon by a few hundred men and women that couldn't compromise to save their lives.

Place the blame on whoever you want, the President, the GOP, the Democrats, Wall Street, etc. But at least notice that people are trying to get things done, and a broken bureaucracy is what is preventing it.
This, so much this.
*Solemn nod*

no, it shouldn't be. how many people do you think will pay taxes if given the choice to? look at all the people doing every single thing they can to weasel out of paying taxes right now

/misunderstanding

My argument was not that we should have the right to not pay taxes if we don't want to because if that were the case 99% of the public would probably never pay anything and the government would have literally no money my argument instead was that the rich shouldn't be taxed more than anyone else

except it's your responsibility as an american citizen to pay taxes
That's right

this, except unironically
well we agree on something

even after 30% taxation, that's 700k a year assuming you make a mil each year. if you're really hurting for money with 700k a year, you're really bad at managing your finances

So, if we tax wealthier people more, our debt will magically disappear?
It worked for me in a game of Victoria II.

How would you feel making lots of money only to be taken in a way that says, "You have more money than everyone else, now give it to me. Now you're like everyone else, *troll face*"
I didnt say to balance everyone out, but if youre making millions and we took a large chunk you would still have millions.

Youre pretty much acting like I said "Oh everyone who makes over 35,000 we take all of their money so all of the country can only make 35,000 a year!"

He also took out Bin Laden.
Told some people to go shoot him*

Really odds of him being re-elected are slim.

Obama is 100% going to be reelected and Im not even a hardcore Obama fan.
The Republican candidates all suck and our government is flawed so any non dems/reps will never be elected.

yeah, he seems like the only sane person there. all those republicans seem like they'll just forget us even more. of course, i'm not very political, but this is from what i know.

The only relatively respectable conservative candidate is Ron Paul imo. Gingrich's ideas are too extreme/undermining and Santorum was just insane, thank God he dropped out. Obama is definitely going to be re-elected from the looks of it.

half of the debt problems are from presidents before him, and honestly, nobody can do better when the next election comes around in november.

vermin supreme 2012

The USA hasn't offically declared war since WW2. so uh, no.

Conservatives are wrong.

Liberals are pussies.

...our government will never work, then we will die. Get over it.

Repealed don't ask don't tell.

Healthcare law (don't know if good or bad seeing as ive never read it and the only ones I've really heard explain it to me are the news anchors on FOX)

Killed OBL

Wrapped up the Iraq war. (there are legitimate geopolitical reasons behind this)

Still working with afghanistan

Extended the bush tax cuts

Reads 10 letters a day from random citizens and the majority of the time he helps the finically hurt to get loans or he gives money from his own pocket (Heard this on NPR)

Granted the majority of this stuff is done by Congress but still

Whether you want to associate this with Obama or not, car companies like Ford turned a profit for the first time in years not too long ago. I know I'm associating it with Obama. :cookieMonster:

Honestly I don't see any economic recovery in the near future. It's the very destructive nature and assbackwardness of it's very structure the monetary system that we have that's loving us.
