just blast both of them you don't have time for this
sorry but it's two to one, we'll capture a pilot

Lia fires on the right fighter, successfully taking it out. She then turns to the left fighter, which doesn't look like it can even move. Oh well, sucks to be him.

You plug Bot into the control panel, where he takes control of the tractor beam and grabs the fighter. The trip back to the station will still take a while, but at least you got something out of hit.

After an hour and a half of travel, Lia finally eases the ships into the hangar. Navaro doesn't seem to want to step out first, especially after that encounter with DCB only a day or two ago, so Stojanow takes the lead. You walk out second and follow him over to the ship.

"Weapons ready, everyone," you order, glancing back at Lia and Navaro as they step out of the ship. "We don't know if this pilot is hostile, nor do we know how many there are in his ship."

Stojanow jumps on top of the ship as you say this. "It looks like it opens from a top hatch," he reports after you finish speaking. He keeps his one-handed gun ready as he carefully opens the hatch.

He quickly looses his balance on the steeply sloped top of the ship as his face is almost met with several rounds of laser weapon fire. You being closest to him, you run forward and make a quick catch before he can hit the ground.

"Thanks," he says as he gets up.

"Well, clearly they don't like us," Navaro comments, drawing his katanas and holding them at the ready. Their shining metal blades flash in the bright hangar lights, causing glimmering reflections to dance on the high walls.

"What do you think?" Lia laughs, playfully elbowing Navaro. "We crippled their ship and then dragged them to a station! Of course they're going to shoot at us."

Stojanow casts a glance over his shoulder at the oh-so-fitting duo before looking at you. "How do you think we're going to get them out, then?"

You shrug. "We could try cutting through the bottom with some of engineering's Cryonnium torches, or we could superheat the bottom to force them out."

Stojanow frowns a bit and looks back at the ship. What now?

Smoke them out by "cooking" them.

aka heat the underside

You ask Lia to run to the engineering area and bring a few workers. After a few minutes, she's back with five engineering officers, each carrying a small tool.

"Whatcha need, Miss?" the officer that appears to be leading the group asks casually.

"To put it simply, we need you to force the pilot and his crew out of his ship by heating the underside."

"Y'know, they'll probaly have s'mesort of heat protection there." He walks up to the ship and examines it, hitting the underside with his fist. "But since it's a fighter, it might be easy to just cook 'em outta there. If nothin' else, we can just cut 'em out."

You give a shrug. "Whichever way you see fit."

The engineering group sets to work on heating the ship up. Come to think of it, cutting them out might've been a better idea. That or finding a way to shut down their life support or something like that.

Surprisingly, after a few minutes of waiting, the ship's crew quickly climbs out of the ship. The pilot comically slips down the slope of the roosterpit window and lands on the floor, soon followed by about four more crewmen. You and your party keep your weapons aimed at them as the pilot drags himself out of the seemingly human dog pile.

What now?

What do you want to ask them/him, though?

Who are you, and why did you attack us.
Also, where did you get those Kkryonite weapons?

>INTERROGATION ROLL RESULT: 5

"Who are you, why did you attack us, and why are you here?" you demand, keeping your gun pointed at the pilot's head.

He doesn't seem to want to go against you, and he quickly answers. "We're with Shy'ryx, the main researchers of Kkryonitte. They sent us after you because you had invaded our territory."

"Last I checked, the Zaa system was still a Triloslynne sector." You keep a stern look on your face.

"Shy'ryx decided you wouldn't have a use for the Kkryonitte-infested sector anymore. Besides that, it was far enough away from your station so that you wouldn't have as many patrols going out there."

You're silent for a moment, and Navaro decides to take the lead. "So you took one of our sectors without warning because it had resources you needed, and it was 'far enough away' so you thought you'd be able to easily steal it?"

"Pretty much, yeah." The pilot shifts uneasily. Something doesn't seem very right about him: the look in his eyes, the way he's sitting... you can't quite place it. "Look, can we just get back to our station? If we don't get back in time, they'll probably be sending out an attack to this station." He sighs heavily. "Going by the way your little fighter ship reacted to our weapons, something like that would be the last thing you want."

Suddenly something doesn't seem right. The others don't seem to pick up on it. You aren't sure what it is, really. It's just... some kind of bad feeling that you can't shake. You casually turn and walk towards the hangar entrance.

Then it hits you. "Get away from them," you order your crew. They look confused. "I said, get away from them."

The engineers and your party step back a bit, but they don't manage to get far enough away before the pilot's ship self-destructs. The pilot and his team members are engulfed in the explosion, and you think that one or two of your engineers might've been badly injured or killed. You catch a glimpse as Stojanow grabs Lia with lightning reflexes, diving into safety with her. Navaro isn't too fortunate, and he doesn't manage to get away before the flames catch up with him.

Well, at least he was a hologram. But the hangar is on fire again. The station's alarms kick in a second or two later, followed by the sound of several people running.

"Is everyone okay?" one of the medical officers asks worriedly, looking around.

"Not everyone, but us three are alright," you reply, gesturing to you, Lia, and Stojanow.

Well then?

Check if any of them survived.

Check if any of them survived.

Then get a fire proof hanger and sprinklers.

Go contact that alien what's-his-face about taking the system and ask why he actually did it.
Then go find him and deck him one across the face.

Then get a fire proof hanger and sprinklers.
well it doesn't help there there are several things full of FUEL and AMMUNITION and FLAMMABLE STUFF

updating now because tumblr's servers are, like, dead

After the fire's been taken care of, all that's left of the enemy fighter's crew are charred armor pieces and bones. They're pretty dead alright. There's no sign of Navaro, but you'll be able to bring him back via the PDA he's currently stored on.

You make your way to Head Command's communication area and try to get in touch with the leader of Shy'ryx, but he doesn't respond. He must be pretty annoyed knowing that his fighter squad failed.

You would go and pay him a visit in person, but right now the hangars are locked down until the fuel is stored somewhere safer and the wreckage is cleared. They're estimating that it'll take a day and a half to finish it all. Until then, you're free to do what you want on the station.

Where to?

Leave a message in which you call him a gigantic richard.
Now talk to bot again.

You would do that if you weren't completely cut off from that sector.

Oh well, at least Bot's still here. You head down to your quarters to chat with him when you suddenly make a sickening realization.

He was still on Lia's ship, which was destroyed in the explosion.

You run to the hangar, causing some of the workers to look up in confusion. You dash to where Lia's ship was and frantically throw various pieces of (now) scrap metal in search of Bot. At last, you manage to dig out the little PDA.

Dusting off the screen a bit, it looks like the little guy took a good deal of damage in the explosion. You're about to try to turn him on when his screen flickers to life. It's hard to read, but he's still alive.

>HI AGAIN (:

He also doesn't seem to be bothered by the fact that he was just in a massive explosion.

>Are you alright?
>
>
>OF COURSE I'M ALRIGHT.
>
>THE ONLY PROBLEM I SEE IS THAT I SEEM TO BE MORE FOCUSED THAN NORMAL
>I SHOULD GET THAT FIXED.

You manage to smile as you get up and walk back your quarters. You sit down at your personal desk with Bot and watch as he happily rambles about various subjects. You suppose the little idiot isn't so bad after all.

>SO WHAT HAPPENED WITH THAT EXPLOSION?
>
>I'm not entirely sure.
>Either they managed to remotely destroy it, whether it be from their station or from one of the crew members...
>Or it was set on a self-destruct timer.
>
>Either way, it blew up.
>
>
>HOW TRAGIC.
>Indeed so.
>
>

He seems to operate a lot slower now. You'll have to get him fixed at some point, it's sort of annoying trying to read what he says on a broken screen.

What now?

Bot's still alive
:D

Go to your quarters and plug him back into the gigantic computer he was normally installed on.

Bot's still alive
:D
>I AM INVINCIBLE
>WHY WOULD YOU DOUBT ME FOR ONE MOMENT?

Go to your quarters and plug him back into the gigantic computer he was normally installed on.
Well, that would be something along the lines of your office in HC. Nevertheless, you make your way there and plug Bot into his computer. It gives a little beep before saying "System recognized" as Bot settles back in. Hopefully he'll have the initiative to track down a replacement case and screen for himself.

In the meantime, you decide to have a quick look for any ships that you might be able to get to replace Lia's other one.

You currently have 250 TCS, but you'll probably be able to get enough to buy a new ship from the Station's global savings.

What now?

Fighter 1 looks great
Btw, posting from brand-spanking-new computer. Woop.
