Gunner’s S.T.A.L.K.E.R. RP

[ READ THIS ENTIRE POST! ]
Regarding the fact that half of the players on the server have no idea what the forget they’re doing, I’ll lay down some ground rules and information for those that actually came to the server looking to roleplay.

**We now have a forums! This will make server/RP organization easier for me and other admins. Please register if you have played on the server before!**

The Overview of the actual game: http://soc.stalker-game.com/?page=game
The Zone World: http://soc.stalker-game.com/?page=zone_world

What you are ALLOWED to do:
  • Roleplay a kill. (You cannot randomly kill someone, as this will result in a ban.)
  • Roleplay an action. (Ex: Steal, do basic actions, and more advanced ones.)
  • Trade with other players. (Barter system, no in-game currency as of now.)
  • Travel throughout the Zone, and establish camps. (As long as you have the resources and permission from an admin.)
  • Create one or several characters, all customized to your liking. (We are using RPChat.)
  • Have and maintain relations with other player-characters depending on their faction. (Ex: Bandits will NOT be friends with Stalkers.)
  • Scavenge through buildings and industrial sites in search of necessities for surival, and new weapons. (Ex: Gas mask filters, cans of food, good water sources, etc,.)

What you are NOT ALLOWED to do:
  • Randomly kill another player. (This is considered RDM [Random Death Match], and can result in a temporary or PERMANENT ban from the server.)
  • Complete actions without roleplaying them. (If you just happen to jump into a car and ride away, you're getting banned regardless.)
  • Use incorrect grammar/punctuation. (Ex: "if u try to talk liek this" and call me Gunner in-game, you will receive a warning to stop. If the player does not listen, they will be banned permanently.
  • Metagame. (Metagaming is gaining in-game information from outside sources [eg. Out-Of-Character chat].)
  • Not follow the persona of your faction. (Bandits steal from lone Stalkers and rarely travel, Military generally threaten everyone, etc,. Faction behaviors listed below.)
  • Spawn vehicles and/or weapons. (Unless said player has permission from an admin/the host.)
  • Roleplay actions with items that you do not have in possession. (If your player is starving in-game and you do you have food, for the sake of realism, go find some.)
  • Travel outside of the playing area. (Eg. exiting the map.)
  • Control another player-character's actions without their permission. (Eg. "I punch you in the face, my fist makes a crunching sound as it slams into your jaw and you're knocked to the floor." This is a no-no!)
  • Ask the host/an admin for building rights, unless you want to contribute to the build on the server. (Eg. you don't need to build a house or a sleeping bag, in that case. Most Stalkers end up sleeping on a cold floor.)
  • Send random trust invites to other players. (This is subject to a kick from the server, or a temporary/permanent ban.)
  • PowerGame. (See below.)
  • Mingehop. (See below.)
  • RK. (See below.)

TERMS

RP - Roleplay. Usually refers to the act of roleplaying, which is where a player can play the role of their player-character.
OOC - Out-of-Character. Can refer to the chat or an actual event/action.
IC - In-Character. If you are IC, that means you are playing as your player-character that you have created.
IG - In-Game. Usually referring to player existence or action. (Eg. if a player is spawning a vehicle, they are not IG.)
STK - Shoot to Kill. A roleplay term coined meaning that one has the ability to shoot directly at another player. (Usually refers to gunfights, where standards are set by an admin either as STK, or STM [see below].)
STM - Shoot to Miss. Shoot to miss is when one is allowed to shoot at another player, but deliberately miss. This is to add realism to the RP.
LOOC - Local-Out-of-Character. Usually refers to chat. To use LOOC, put brackets ( [ ] ) in normal chat, and type the LOOC message between each bracket.
PowerGaming - Doing unhuman things ICly; forcing someone to RP. (Ex: /me takes out the minigun from his small pocket.)
RK - Revenge kill. If another player-character kills you ICly, and you return to them and kill them as revenge. This is subject to ban. (Just report a RDM to an admin!)
MingeHopping - Jumping to get somewhere faster/avoid bullets. This is not allowed.
NLR - New Life Rule. If you are killed ICly, you will be forced to delete your previous character (he/she was killed), and create a new one with a different background and avatar.

Now that we've gotten the majority of terms and rules out of the way, now for the factions!

FACTIONS
    • Stalkers : Stalkers exploring the Zone on their own. Most of stalkers are loners as membership in grouping takes valuable time and thus reducing the income; besides, some are just inclined to isolation and independence. Stalkers are usually friendly, as long as you don't point a gun in their face.
    • Traders : Trade with player-characters, and especially Stalkers. Usually greedy, and aim to make a profit.
    • Freedom : Anarchists and daredevils who declare themselves to be fighting for free access to the Zone, and consequently find themselves in constant conflict with army units, military stalkers, and Duty. These freedom fighters believe that information about the Zone must not be hidden from humanity, and challenge the state's monopoly over the Zone's secrets and wonders. They are hostile against bandits and Duty, but are usually neutral with Stalkers and Traders.
    • Duty : A clearly militarized group noted for its strict discipline, with members living according to a code.
Only Duty representatives refuse to trade unique items from the Zone with the outside world. According to rumours, all artifacts found by members of this group are passed to scientists. Every member considers it his primary objective to protect the world from the Zone. Most of the group's operations concern destroying monsters, and so Duty's raids often save regular stalkers from many daily problems. The faction has long been in a fierce war with Freedom. Duty are hostile against Bandits and Freedom, but are usually friendly to Stalkers.
    • Bandits : Representatives of criminal world who came into the Zone for different reasons: earn from selling the artifacts, hide from the law, buy or sell weapons. The Zone has quite a few of this element, ranging from hoodlums to hardened criminals. Most of the time they are united into gangs, however there is still no unified bandit organization in the Zone. Bandits pose a big trouble to rank-and-file stalkers. Hostile against all player-characters, but not other Bandits.
    • Military : Soldiers who took special training after service in the Zone, or stalkers contracted by the army. They carry special equipment, are well armed and equipped. Most often they are used to study the causes and consequences of the disaster, and also map the Zone. They may move alone or in groups of up to five people. They do not let regular stalkers approach, immediately opening fire.

    And that covers factions!

SETTING
The year is 2009. Travel in the Zone is nearly restricted, and a gas mask is REQUIRED to be outside.
Strelok, the main character from S.T.A.L.K.E.R. : Shadow of Chernobyl, has not gained the title of Marked One yet. He is being watched by military personnel and the KGB, as he had made it to the Chernobyl reactor and escaped alive.

    SERVER ADDONS
      RPChat Commands
      • You must first make a player-character to speak. To do so, type /setname <FIRST> <LAST> into normal chat. A suggestion for names would be:                                                 [Role/Faction] Firstname
                                                                                              OR
                                                                        [Role/Faction] Lastname Firstname
      • To use OOC chat:                  1.) Press your team chat key.
                                                   2.) Put a ^ into the chat (above 6).
                                                   3.) Type your message.
                                                   4.) Press enter.
      • To use a RADIO (if you own one), type your message into team chat. You will broadcast to the frequency that you set. Radios are globally heard (by whoever is broadcasting/monitoring that specific frequency).
      • Normal speech has an area-radius effect. To speak to someone, you must be close to them.

If you wish to apply for build rights, admin, or the leader of a specific faction, please post below some information about yourself, why you want the requested position, and how you could contribute to the server if you had said position.

And that just about does it. If you have a question about anything not mentioned in this post, please send me a PM. I will soon make the server dedicated, for all to play. Thank you for reading, and welcome to Stalker RP!

I just went to your server, it was so much fun. You should have it up 24/7.

I will most definitely try to. I might actually host it from this laptop, and play off of my desktop, but we'll see. If people donated some cheddar, I could buy a dedicated.

One of the best Rp servers on Blockland, I give it a 9/10.

And im building the powerplant (if it looks good)

Sounds good. We definitely need builders, because I'm deciding whether I should start a new save from scratch, to meet standards. That is quite an old build, and doesn't exactly relate to the storyline.

      Gots to build pripyat

I don't know about an exact replica, guys. If we had enough builders, I would be glad to. But as of now, all we have is Morpheus and I. :/

I would help but I don't like to participate in RP's.

You don't? Ah, that's too bad. They're a lot of fun if you get into them properly.
