It's Charlie Chaplin's speech from the movie The Great Dictator but with modern pictures and examples that give it a striking connection to the world today. Gives me goosebumps.

Old, but I still love that speech.

I think I remember seeing it on PlumpHelmetPunk's list of informative videos

Saw this on my Tumblr a few days ago, it's truly amazing.

It's definitely an inspiring speech.

My English teacher showed us this

Pretty relevant and accurate, except where he says the earth has enough resources to sustain us all.

I thought you said Charlie Sheen so I clicked on it and said "dis gon b gud."

But it does.

But it does.

Then why must we synthesize a lot of our products then? I believe there was barely a billion people alive at that time. The progressive consumption of them over time has lowered the amount of resources we have while increasing the number of consumers. Plus, we are also consuming more resources per person than back then.

We still have enough of we wouldn't be here. Eventually the amount of people will stop increasing because we are consuming as much as we are producing and can't produce anymore. The only resource we are running out of are nonrenewable ones which are mostly used for fuel and will eventually be obsolete.

>Land size is limited and consumers still produce waste
>Notice how many food items we have that are not completely natural

We have more than enough space for the amount of people on the Earth, plus a lot. If we get to much waste we could just send it into space or something.
Food is created from renewable resources because we grow it. We don't eat oil or coal, which are nonrenewable resources. If we run out of oil to boil our potato chips or fries in, then that's a bummer, no more chips or fries, just potatoes, people will never eat that...
