Author Topic: Planning on jailbreaking my iPod touch.  (Read 1522 times)

Isn't jailbreaking a form of piracy?
No, I'm not sure why so many people believe this. It really only voids your contract with apple's warranty.

Also, everyone who voted potatoes is cool.

You can restore it. Did it twice with my jailbroken device.

Still confused on exactly HOW to restore it. Tell me? Cause I'm planning restoring it after I jailbreak if I hate it. :)

Go into iTunes.
Plug in iPod into computer.
Click restore on iPod page.

Yeah, it's really simplified for the average user.

If you want to keep your iPod touch then don't do it.

Also, @OP: while jailbreaking your device does void the device's warranty, if you encounter a problem with the device, just restore its original OS before bringing it in to the Apple store. A friend of mine had an iPod touch that, by the fault of him being stupid and installing certain apps and mods that are incompatible with each other, stopped functioning properly. He simply restored the original OS. Restoring and rejailbreaking is usually enough to fix any big problem you might have, but if restoring still doesn't fix a problem, just bring it into the Apple store with the original OS installed. They won't be able to tell you ever jailbroke in the first place.

My iphone wouldnt even work without jailbreak, i get unlock from cydia cause apple has this loving homoloveual lock thing that if you buy your iphone from usa you cant use a finnish sim in it etc.

Thanks to jailbreak i can call my mom!

apparently jailbreaking makes it run slower.
In any case, I don't think it's really worth it.
That's completely untrue.

That's like saying logging as administrator will make your computer run slower

you can restore it to default settings you know :/

I jailbroke my IPhone and restored it within an hour due to the fact it ran extremely slow.
