Author Topic: Razer headsets broke. Wat do?  (Read 4566 times)

Yeah, rolled over them once or twice, now the right earphone isn't working.

Thinking about sending it to razer along with a proof of purchase, but I took a screwdriver and tried to to open up the left headset(couldn't do it, but 2 screws look like they've been messed with.) and I unscrewed some cap thing that allows how big the headset is.

So, what now.(No BS please.)

My right piece on my Razer Piranha went out because the soldering connection on the inside broke, so I opened it up and resoldered it myself.  If you know what you're doing you can figure it out but IMO you can buy better for their prices.  Or just send it in to them if you have warranty.

the problem with the warranty is that I don't know what violates the warranty.
I never actually opened up the headphones to where you could see the circuitry.

For something like headphones, they're so simple you can figure it out for yourself and save $5.

I'm afraid that the wire in the VERY middle of the wiring line is broken.

Which means I won't know what part is broken.

Razer has amazing customer support. Just tell them that the right ear piece is dysfunctional and they will replace it.

Ok I might be able to help. So, Since you say it's a headset and it's stereo, are there 3 wires or 6?

Think there's six

I'll look into that this weekend.

Carcharias or whatever they're called?
Re-solder the wire.

Yeah, I did that.  No money wasted B)

Sorry for forgetting, Anyways, since there's six, that means two go to mic, two to the left, and two to the right. Find the two to the right earphone, and fiddle with them, If you can get the casing around the right earphone open, see if there are any broken connections. If you find it, solder it back. If you can't Electrical tape it and make sure the two points are touching.

I don't mean to highjack the topic, but if I got the Razer Deathadder and Lycosa,  would that be good? Or, should I get something else? I mainly play games like LoL and   WoW, along with CS:S and what not.

Sadly, I can't help you with this. I don't know anything about headphone qualities, I just know how they work.

They're mice and keyboard, but alright.
I'll make a new topic guys.
