I wonder what'll happen when (or if) Carmageddon: Reincarnation comes out.

No he doesn't. He cries about how the violence is overly saturated.

It's like icing on a cake. You want to see people get mauled horrifically, but only every so often. If you make a cake entirely out of icing, the icing isn't special. The sugar thickens your saliva and you start hacking up lugies. Then you become diabetic and need insulin shots twice a day for the rest of your life.

Call of Duty has a severe case of diabetes.

He never said violence is bad, stop being dumb.

He never said violence is bad, stop being dumb.
i never quoted him to say that did i? "stop being dumb."    <- see those little marks, that means im claiming someone said something.

half the article IS bitching about to much violence.
sure he goes on to blame it all on boring character development. but this article was clearly written as an attack on game violence.

No, you're misinterpreting it because you lack intelligence.

he spends a paragraph or so touching on the multiplayer changes needed to save a dying franchise (ironically listing things that every other game has had for years...)
complains about the same old junk in every game, then claims the same old stuff from other games will save it. derp.

has a quick paragraph about overused action movie cliche. that is a legit complaint.

then a page about how violence isnt being used properly and how we should instead change it to make us think about our actions and feel more for both sides of the conflict.
derp on a rehashed PTA mom's angry letter.

ike a jab at my intelligence doesn't go very far coming from you.

i offer 10fold more real discussion in these forums then you ever have. usually when topics require more thought, i only ever see you complain about other's comments, offering none of your own.

grow up some

But he's right. There's no reason for video games to have the violence of something like a SAW movie. It's not that people are too immature to handle that kind of stuff, it just doesn't add anything to the game.

And sometimes it doesn't even make sense. In one of the Call of Duty games, you put a piece of glass inside this dude's mouth, punch him, and then he's riding around with an SMG helping you shoot his comrades because he had an epiphany or some stuff. The way that plot works to me is that the developers said, "Wow, this interrogation scene is pretty brutal, but it's not bloody enough. Instead of strangling him, why not slice up the inside of his mouth with glass shards?" Then they just completely forget that this guy becomes an ally in the next minute.

It's violence for the sake of violence and it's completely petty and worthless to gameplay.

this

That'd be cool if they added in the Sonic Cd kinda good ending and bad ending depending on your actions.

i like how people complain about the call of duty story killing, but they don't complain about gta 4

Personally, the crap with the killing innocents and bomb part is just for attention.  They merit nothing to the game and there is almost no challenge in them.

As much as the multiplayer is the same thing from year to year, they have a winning format. Numbers don't lies. If people don't like it, they should stop purchasing the game. The reason CoD continues to be made is because they have some of the highest video game sales of all time, not to mention the top 3 games on XBL. Why would they change something successful.
