Author Topic: Your Thoughts on Anthropomorphic animals? (intelligent discussion)  (Read 20968 times)

We all know the word for them. If things get out of hand I'll lock this for the good of mankind.

So what do you think? Are furrys rejected most commonly through stereotypes? Why do you like being furry? Why do you hate furrys?

I've always been a large newbie about this subject so I'm here to understand the issues and other things that make this such a heated subject.

People hate things they don't understand and are too stubborn to understand them
Usually leads to blind hate

What is there to understand for the person who doesn't? From what little I know, the furry community is based solely around animals that partially look sound and function like a human. Is that all there is too it? Or is there something that would make someone hate an entire, (i'm going to try and use this word as carefully as I can) "subculture".

I stopped caring about furries when I hit puberty.

I've found a shocking amount of adults into this kind of stuff. I don't think it's just centered around a certain age group though a lot of it could be found in younger people.

That's not what I meant. I was never into the furry fandom myself. I just stopped raging and foaming at the mouth over them when m balls dropped.

It's is a very touchy subject because people always flip their stuff whenever discussion of it arises so there really isn't much some people know
I'm only stating the obvious because I don't know much about this, it would probably be easier to ask night fox or someone

It isn't a touchy subject, you just get idiots like Nick who are going to come swooping in with their hammer and jetpacks preaching about heretics and spamming the thread with images cropped from their desktop wallpapers.

It stay's intelligent as long as this topic doesn't go down into a boiling rage of children throwing insults at eachother. Highly probable but it doesn't hurt to try and avoid it.

I know I'm going to sound like Lord Tony saying this, but if you watch My Little Pony you have no room to hate on the Furry Fandom. That's like the chess team being pissed off at the anime club.

I have a quote somewhere that sums up my feelings about people who like different things. Lemme see if I can't dig it up.

I honestly can't say I care what people are in this forum.
I don't care if someone's a furry or not.
I don't care if someone's participating in an avatar fad or not.
I don't care if someone likes MLP and/or has an avatar from the show.
I start caring when they shove it in other people's faces, parade it around like a medal, and when someone says "I think it's stupid," said person flips out and defends it no matter what.

I find art to be art, it's a form of creativity and imagination. I enjoy it as such and only as such. With that, I'd say I'm "neutral."

If we're going to also discuss furries, I find that their special interest is not the strangest, but it's definitely odd as many others are too. The fandom of furries (both those who are in it for art, and those who are in it to fap) doesn't bother me either until someone shows up and literally throws tons of stuff in my face about it. For the most part, I don't really care about them, they don't cause me any harm.

Thanks Demian, I finally had a new option to update the poll.
