Author Topic: Is blockland a toy or is it like rayman?  (Read 2318 times)

It's what everyone except Tony wants it to be

Maps like the bedroom and kitchen even proves we are just toys as well.

Someone should make a toy store map.

Nobody should question whether this is based off of Legos or not, rather, how they view it as.

ya we're just toys running around and skiing on 1 feet bumps in the middle of a winter wasteland

Considering the original game was based on actual Legos, and players from the beta had arms and legs, I can say with authority that Blockland's theme is toy based, not Rayman. However, Rayman might have influenced the final appearance of the player model.

Also, I'm interested to see what Badspot has to say about the origin of the armless/legless player model.

Have you ever see the island of misfit toys?

My guess is that the old blocheads with arms and legs just didn't look the greatest. Badspot might not have been able to get as much detail into certain body parts without the boxy arms and legs looking oddballish.
Just look at our feet, how would you get the detail that you see in the shoes using some box as a leg?

I was going to but I made it as a giant build instead.

Think about that for a minute, how do you not know it's a giant field somewhere?

blockland is an incredibly heavily stylized toy set

blockheads may or may not be estranged, plasticine relatives of Cubivores and may or may not also be diminutive robots that run on unobtanium
