I don't agree with it. It's not worth loosing great maps.
I dislike loose maps, tight maps are much better.

Hindering progress

Basically this update will ruin fortwars. What's fortwars on a flat map?

I'm pretty sure they've tried every possible method. Quoting Kompressor:
And to all those who don't support this:
Don't go raging at BS/Komp. All you'll achieve is to piss them of. They will get tired of BL and its hostile community that never seems to be happy change. And eventually they'll stop working on the game.
Just calm down and let this happen. That way the developers can concentrate on bringing back interiors / comming up with a good alternative.

I completely agree with this post, I mean if you were raped, why would you want to fight back?

>mfw people use rape as a comparative

I was a bit upset, but you can't be one of those people that get mad at change. I'm excited.

HOWEVER

Interiors can look hot too:

Oh god, pagestretch!

I have no idea what to think right now. Although those are some absolutely amazing graphics, I really will miss the slopes.

i think it's a step in the right direction whether people want to see it as that yet or not. they made it sound like this will make the brick a lot more easy to work with in terms of improving it. don't think of it as removing terrain/interiors for better shadows, think of what else might actually be able to come from it down the road.

Nice resolution.

I'm trying to be optimistic about the new update, but there is still a fair part of me that will miss the terrain/interior. It's for a greater good though.

How is the game progressing technologically, and changing it's mechanics fundamentally, if we're keeping the same engine?

Would you rather have less updates, because they are harder to implement, or have more updates and improvements because they won't need to work around interiors and terrains like they've had to?

This update is going to be much more than just shadows.

Only problems that I don't like is that building terrain would take a whole lot of bricks, would not repeat, and vehicles won't drive as smoothly.

nonoononono i dont want this if i have to build ever little hill im going to flip i cant hafe a dogfight on a slate! even if i build  a terian it will lag like crazy and the planes will go through the bricks. And not everyone can afford new video cards

If only someone made a torch add-on, this update would be Blockland's biggest achievement.

Player lights won't cast shadows, so until they do, a torch wouldn't be extrodinary.
