I never understood Code Lyoko
well, it all started when the scientist francis hopper was working on a secret project for the french goverment, after seeing that this project will not be good for the people he creates a program to destroy the project, called XANA. shortly after being chased down by the goverment after his wife was captured by the goverment, him and his daughter, aelita, go to the old factory where the project was being stored. they planned on virtually being transfered into that lyoko so no one can hurt them. XANA being a rogue badass takes dr. fracis' physical body and the code for aelita's. in a last stand chance, francis hopper shuts down the supercomputer and lyoko.
years later, a school going to the nearby university finds the computer, and activates it. and finds aelita. after recruting his 3 new friends they go in and try to save her.
the first season consists of filler of just XANA activating a physical world catastrohpe and team lyoko shutting it down while they try to find out how to free aelita.
the second season consists of aelita being realeased from lyoko, but the same as the 1st season really
the 3rd season introduces a new schoolkid, william, after being sent to lyoko he is then possessed by dr. badass XANA. the rest of the season is trying to get him back.
the 4th season is they finally get him back, then do some more filler, then shut off the super computer FOR GOOD.
