Okay, so not in the big, huge, movie-type explosion, but it still did. I go to turn it on, and all of a sudden I hear a loud "pop" and it starts smoking. The good news is that's its about 10 years old anyway, so nobody uses it.

my old monitor did something similar last year
except it was more of a scary series of loud clicks and pops and the screen violently shook
and it died
