Yeah, and I bet over half of the people only like it because others do.

Many people knew about the show for a long time. Many people insulted it.

But suddenly out of nowhere (aka 4chan), a bunch of people started claiming to like it. Suddenly they're telling everyone (except their parents) that they like a kid's show about a bunch of female horses looking for 7 crystal balls about dragons elemental balls of harmonics to stop Freeza unbalance and tyranny (or whatever). For some lame magical reason, all their friends thought they actually like this abomination fluffy show about super saiy- unicorn ponies that fly and pull wagons. They continued to spread memes and unfunny jokes like any other Minecraft or Homestruck addict would.

Now you know why Minecraft and MLP are the most popular things on the Blockland forums.

1) Create bad product.
2) Catch a couple of fans.
3) Hope to god the fans create the most viral and unfunny jokes ever. (creepers, punch got spiked, recreating hundreds of meme's in the form of minecraft/mlp)
