I was working on my first serious model, and after an hour of work I notice it isn't full screened.  I tap the icon just to have the whole thing crash.

Hour of work, gone.

There's a folder made with temporary saves you know. Your work isn't all lost.

quit.blend in temporary folder.

Jesus and Satan were having a modelling contest; an epic battle for control of mankind's destiny.

Both forced to use Blender3D, they begin working on their most brilliant creation to date. Sculpting and and carving basic geometric shapes into complex figures anyone would ever see.

After two thousand years of work, the deadline of December 21st, 2012 is right around the corner. Both rush to finish their animations depicting the fate of mankind.

As Midnight approaches, God causes a power outage and both computers flicker out. In frustration, Satan cries out that they have cheated, but as Jesus turns on his computer, his masterpiece is still there.

Moral of the story: Jesus Saves.

PRAISE BE THE LORD!

But you need $50,000 to let Jesus save you.

You're basically blaming Blender for your human error of not saving your work. Sure the program crashed, but you could have easily avoided any trouble by saving. And also:

quit.blend in temporary folder.

That.

I don't like the idea of screwing a blender :(
