There's a folder made with temporary saves you know. Your work isn't all lost.

Both forced to use Blender3D, they begin working on their most brilliant creation to date. Sculpting and and carving basic geometric shapes into complex figures anyone would ever see.

After two thousand years of work, the deadline of December 21st, 2012 is right around the corner. Both rush to finish their animations depicting the fate of mankind.

You're basically blaming Blender for your human error of not saving your work. Sure the program crashed, but you could have easily avoided any trouble by saving. And also:

quit.blend in temporary folder.
