I'm seeing it simply because Lucas is an ass and has stated he won't release any of the further movies in 3D unless this one does financially well.
Meaning we have to see I in order to see II and II in order to see III. So basically the whole loving trilogy to see IV V and VI.

As I stated in another post: Lucas has become so drunk over his success over 3 good films and 3 mediocre films that he has now completely objectified and isolated his hard-core fanbase merely for the sake of making a buck. He is consistently changing his original films when only a director's cut for a 10 or 25 year anniversary is needed.
Has stated several reasons for why he doesn't/will not make episodes 7-9, which I only believe is because people are not lining up at his front door with hands cupped and mouths open to be jizzed on by the arrogant sod. I will not spend another dollar towards the Star Wars franchise until I see Episode 7 hit the theatres.
J.J. Abrams was verbally torn to shreds by hard core Trekkies for making a reboot of Star Trek, but is he whining and griping and retiring from film making like the panty-waste Lucas? Hell no! He's already making a new Trek movie out in 2013.
Lucas needs to change his diaper, throw away the tampon and go buy himself a set of balls and get back to doing what he should be doing; Making movies for the people who have given him everything he could ever want. It's only fair he make Episodes 7-9 simply because that's what his honest paying fanbase wants. End of story.
