Author Topic: Figured out how to hack into my TV.  (Read 1330 times)

That is not hacking.
Hacking is hijacking or exploiting features of a larger object. For example, using Assembly to 'hack' hardware on playstations, either to modify hardware details or to leech data.
Another thing which could be considered hacking is modifying hardware in your computer to refine some details, like maybe overclocking.

Congrats on finding'hacking' a menu on your TV, though.
Except you can modify hardware details in this menu

Through a way intended by its designers.
Not by forging your own interface to exploit security flaws to tamper with hidden data.

My TV is 1080 and my xbox runs full resolution on it what are you talking about

Actually I do know someone who did something I would consider "hacking his tv"

Apparantly he found the input wire that connected his house's cable to the cable network and spliced it and ran a TV directly off it and now he can get every channel without paying a cent.

A lot of people do that

It's not hacking if the designers put it there intentionally.

OP, I just reported you to Panasonic about this.  They will contact you with legal business.
