Author Topic: This is how you make a face/decal/print  (Read 20669 times)

The files should be a .PNG file.
the one you want for in-game play would be 256x256 which would be in the folder in the following: Blockland/base/data/shapes/player/faces
The image as an icon should be 64x64 in size and belonging in this folder: Blockland/base/client/ui/avataricons/faces.
Please make the image transparent so we can choose a color for skin or clothes ect. If you don't, you may most likely get flamed by other members on the forums. You can by getting either Gimp, Paint.net, Photoshop, or Paint shop pro. (These are all the programs I know of)
Don't make the mistake I did by leaving a shade of white outline around the perimeter of a line. As in, when you make the image  transparent it still has a shade of white or other color around the Perimeter of an image.
Make sure the file name of the in-game image and the icon and the SAME EXACT name.

For a decal, the main size for the in-game image would be 256x256. This file should be placed in Blockland/base/data/shapes/player/decals
The icon for the decal should be 64x64 and goes in Blockland/base/client/ui/avataricons/decals.
Again, use something to make it transparent.
Make sure the file name of the in-game image and the icon and the SAME EXACT name.

For a print, it depends on the size.

1x1 prints should be 512x512 as the in-game image. It goes in Blockland/base/data/shapes/print/1x1
The icon will be 64x64 as the icon size and go in Blockland/base/data/shapes/printicons/1x1

A 2x1 print should be 512x256 as the in-game image which goes in Blockland/base/data/shapes/print/2x1
The icon would be 64x64 and go in Blockland/base/data/shapes/printicons/2x1

A 2x2 print would be 512x512 as the in-game image which goes here: Blockland/base/data/shapes/print/2x2
The icon size would be 64x64 and go in Blockland/base/data/shapes/printicons/2x2

A letter would be 256x256 as a in-game image that goes in Blockland/base/data/shapes/print/letters
The icon size would be 64x64 and go in Blockland/base/data/shapes/printicons
Please make these useful and transparent.
Make sure the file name of the in-game image and the icon and the SAME EXACT name.

Thats my tutorial. Maybe update later if I have to.

Bump because I want it to be stickied..

I did all this, but how do you make things transparent?

Use the Eraser or Background Eraser, i think they're Background Eraser for both Photoshop and Paintshop

Hit deleted when you highlighted something to erase it in Paint.net.
I would also like to add that it is crucial for you to center the face/chest decals that you make.

Bump because I want it to be stickied..
Old post is old, I know, but you'd need to format your writing a hell of a lot better than that.

Why do they need to be EXACTLY THE SAME

Because than the game can associate the two?

gimme paint dot net plz, or paint shop pro

Here you go.

Use, being lazy is not an excuse.
And you don't need milkshape 3D to make decals, and I highly doubt that you cannot find it using google.

ill get you both links, hold on
